Loving everything, from the new dances to the theme of anctient egypt, makes me feel alot more comfortable playing in environments with a lot of open spaces, rich golden colours and nice scenery with bushland and rivers as opposed to enclosed, dark places of Canthan mainland.

Tried it for about ten minutes but...
I think i skip this event and just wait for retail. Then i'm goin to do what no one does, and make my first ranger. With all those Paragons and Derwishes, some ranger lure skill will be in demand.

Anet.. please hear me out.. please give the male Dervish the male monk emotes and not the male ranger emotes.. again.. how many classes can share the same emote?
Thank you, Quid.
:P
Seriously though I was so dissapointed when I saw they had the ranger emotes again.

Initially I liked the whole African feel, but yeah as someone said its a bit like Factions. I'm getting sick of doing mini quests tbh. A chapter with mainly missions and very few quests would be fantastic. Yeah may skip preview for the retail version, a bit over-quested out.

I love the new skills for existing professions, and I love a new continent to play on, but there was no need for new professions. Out of the 50 districts there are thousands of Ps and Ds. And I saw 1 ranger. This is what NF will be like, and it's stupid. They had to make a group composed of entirely Paragons and Dervishes balanced, so they are makeshift monks, warriors, rangers, etc.
The new professions aren't needed, they try to take on roles of older professions but do it slightly differently. It sucks.
I hope next chapter no new professions, only new skills and areas.

I feel the same way about professions - there is no need for more. I'm fine at 8, or possibly 10. I don't intend to play either P or D, and honestly don't want to see any more professions.
Nightfall is very pretty. Heroes sound like too much micromanagement for my taste.

Dont be daft. Of course on the perview all you will see will be Para's and Derv's but as soon as the full game comes out all and sundry will be transferring their existing characters across to play. Sure there may be a few more Para's and Derv's at the start, but its the same as Factions, and it'll always be the same when a new character is introduced.
And the game is not a Role Playing Game. You CAN role play if you like but most dont.

Paragon's 'male' features?
After creating a Paragon in the World Preview event, the abilities are appealing but its physical features are really putting me off. It seems that I’ve just created a ‘gay’ character. With that skirt and ‘cute’ haircut (very woman like in some styles) it just looks way too feminine...

Well, I had made a thread on the Riverside forum about how I'll be sitting it out... but the thread disappeared (maybe due to server load today).
Anyway... I think that my experience with the last preview event made me feel that some things are best left for release. I just wasn't surprised enough with Factions when it was released. This was my own fault because I explored and unlocked so much of the content during the preview event.
I think that I'll definitely build a Dervish in the next chapter, but I don't want to bother with it until I really can build the character. All the effor this weekend will be for nothing aside from unlocks, and that's not enough overcome my reservations about seeing too much too soon.

Well, except for my being one of only three necros I saw anywhere (ADORE the new necro armor!!!!!!), I'd say first impressions were that Nightfall is okay. Not great, although it is certainly beautifully rendered, but overall only okay so far.
To be fair, I'll play a bit longer but here's a few things I did or didn't care for:
1. Must be lvl 5 before you can even *think* about dual-class. Good in my opinion.
2. Timed (gods, not again!) mission -- LOSE THEM. Granted the first one is micro-mini in scope, but if you're brand new to GW and have no idea how to work skillbars, etc. then timed is just stupid. I didn't realize it was timed and explored a bit, only to find that 6 minutes was barely 'passing' grade.
3. Mini-quests for different merchants/traders: well, it keeps it more interesting than just killing for the sake of killing. And it helps both with leveling and in the purse, so *shrugs*.
4. Henches: Who needs a warrior when you've got a Dervish now? The "Holy hench" kicked serious ass, much better than Koss (who needs a haircut or something...)

Well, I only had about 10 minutes to play around with this this morning because of the build delay so I don't have a lot of input yet. However, I'm not pleased with the female Paragon's hair styles. I know, picky, but I'm a girl after all! The faces are kinda creepy too. What's up with the albino eyes and white lipstick? That face looks like it belongs on a necro, not a paragon.
